Bike Trek 2015, Success!

For the second year, John Reschovsky cycled from Buffalo to Albany as a participant in the annual Parks & Trails New York, Erie Canal Bike Tour. This year, John asked for pledges and donations in support of Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region. Some individuals stepped up and made pledges from 10 cents to $1.00 per mile while others made a one-time flat donation. Additionally, a generous donor matched the pledges up to a total of $10.00 per mile!
Through hills and valleys, hot days and teaming rain, John pushed on. Each day he thought about our mission to inspire all girls to be STRONG, SMART and BOLD and that gave him all the motivation he needed to complete Bike Trek 2015. This year John logged 406 miles over the eight day ride bringing the grand total to be received to more than $12,000.00!

John shared his daily journal with us detailing the sights, sounds and weather of his journey. When  John arrived at the Cycle the Erie Canal Finish Line at Quackenbush Square in Albany on Sunday, July 19th, he was greeted by a welcoming committee of Girls Inc. girls and staff. John’s journal entries and photos are on our Facebook page #BikeTrek2015

Thank you so very much to those that made pledges and donations in support of Girls Inc. and offered inspiration as John traveled across New York State for the girls of the Capital Region.
