Girls Inc. provides invaluable service to Capital Region girls. Taking a holistic approach to both mind and body, with programs designed to inspire girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold, we celebrate and empower girls and young women, and advocate for an equitable world.  Many have seen our impact first-hand, having met some of the young ladies who have currently enrolled and others who are alumnae of Girls Inc. programs.

Girls Inc. girls are confident, speak their minds, and no matter what their age, they have goals and a plan to achieve them — amazing!

Please join us in celebrating Girls Inc.’s programs for local girls at this year’s Dinner & Auction. In doing so you will make it possible for Girls Inc. to continue offering the quality programs which parents say is the major reason they entrust their daughters to Girls Inc.

A warm heartfelt thank you to all our generous sponsors!

Donation of New Books

A shout out to Nikdai Buckley from Rite Aid at 1108 State Street here in Schenectady! He stopped by the other day with boxes of books for our member girls to enjoy.  There is nothing better than the gift of learning! His gift of $2,200 in books will be a great resource for many years to come.

Thank you Nikdai and thank you Rite Aid!

Winter Fun in the Adirondacks

Our winter trip to the Adirondacks

Girls Inc members and staff arrived safely back after a wonderful overnight trip to the Adirondacks.  They started out bright and early at 6:45 on Saturday morning (yes, they braved the storm). After making a brief stop at the Dewey Mt. Recreation Center to pick up John Reschovsky, Chris Morris, and some local youth, they arrived at The Wild Center at 11:00 am.

For the rest of the day, the girls enjoyed looking around The Wild Center, activities based on maple sugaring, snowshoeing to John’s Cabin in the Corey’s and then dinner and a movie.

On Sunday, after a wonderful waffle breakfast and more exploring they were on their way home again.  Spirits were high and smiles all the way home as a sign of a great weekend away for these girls.

A special thank you goes out to John Reschovsky (Girls Inc. Board Member), Chris Morris (Adirondack Foundation) and The Wild Center for organizing this amazing adventure for the girls.  Thank you!
