Girls Inc. Programming:  Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region has been serving the Capital Region for more than 82 years. We provide FREE after-school programs for all girls grades K-12. At Girls Inc., we establish an environment that is girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect.

Current Part-Time Job Openings – Schenectady

We are seeking multiple part-time candidates to join our after-school team at our Schenectady Center! Each after-school program specialist featured below helps to provide research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age appropriate programming that meets the need of today’s girls. 

The following part-time positions are available at the Girls Inc. Schenectady Center:

  • Location:  962 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY  12307
  • Start Date:  September 2019
  • Part-time, Monday – Friday (2pm-6pm), September – December & January – May
  • Each program specialist is responsible for planning, facilitating and evaluating age appropriate after-school programs.
  • AAS, experience working with children preferred, valid driver’s license required.

Computer Specialist- Part Time (2nd – 5th grade):  Specialist plans and facilitates program support and promotes computer literacy. Program examples include, but are not limited to internet basics and safety, Microsoft Office and Powerpoint, computer games, and coding. Specialist assists other after-school team members when needed.

Teen Program Specialist: (6th-12th grade): Specialist plans and facilitates programs that focus on helping our oldest members achieve life skills needed to prepare them for adulthood. Examples include but are not limited to: Economic literacy, college prep, career exploration, healthy sexuality, media literacy, public speaking & stress management. Specialist assists other afterschool team members when needed.

  • Start Date:  September 2019
  • Part-time, Monday – Friday (2pm-6pm), September – December & January – May
  • Each program specialist is responsible for planning, facilitating and evaluating age appropriate after-school programs.
  • AAS, experience working with children preferred, valid driver’s license required.

Creation Station Specialist- Part Time (2nd – 5th grade):  Specialist plans and facilitates homework help and free time activities, prepares and hands out snack, provides a space that is physically, socially and emotionally safe. Specialist assists other after-school team members when needed.

Teen Program Specialist: (6th-12th grade): Specialist plans and facilitates programs that focus on helping our oldest members achieve life skills needed to prepare them for adulthood. Examples include but are not limited to: Economic literacy, college prep, career exploration, healthy sexuality, media literacy, public speaking & stress management.
