What children see in the media has a profound impact on their body image and self-confidence.
Children are impressionable. When they are surrounded by media messages that define and illustrate what “beautiful” is or looks like, they believe what they see and hear.
Resources are available for educators and parents to help young people understand that beauty is found in the features and qualities that make us all different. Our thanks to Schenectady County Public Library for comprising this positive body image book list.
