The Greater Capital Region Represented at the Inaugural Girls Leading Change Summit!
Some of our strong, smart, and bold Eureka! girls joined more than 250 high school girls from over 30 Girls Inc. Affiliates across the United States and Canada for the inaugural Girls Leading Change Summit at Washington University in St. Louis.
Held July 13–16, the Summit empowered girls to strengthen their leadership skills through workshops and discussions focused on civic leadership, media literacy, emotional intelligence, wellness, self-advocacy, and community impact. Participants collaborated on youth-led solutions to real-world challenges while building lasting connections with peers who share a passion for creating positive change.
Our affiliate was so incredibly proud to have a strong presence at this inaugural event, representing the Greater Capital Region alongside peers from across the U.S. and Canada!

Here’s what a few of our girls had to say about their experience:
“Hi, I’m Pragna!! This trip was incredible and eye-opening! I learned so much about different advocacy methods through girls who were passionate about the issues they advocated for. Over and over again, I was inspired by women and girls who spoke up and shared their experiences. Now, I feel much more comfortable speaking up and networking. I’ve made such amazing core memories and friendships that I’ll cherish forever
.”

“Hi I’m Shreya! I had an absolutely amazing time at the Girls Leading Change Summit. It was such an amazing opportunity to meet girls from all over the country and Canada, and leave inspired by the amazing work they have done. I’ve made so many friends and memories that will last forever.”

“Hi, I’m Darshni! The Girls Leading Change Summit at WashU was such an inspiring experience. Meeting hundreds of incredible girls and participating in interactive breakout sessions gave me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and grow as a leader. I left the summit with so many new friends, fresh ideas, and a greater passion for making a positive impact in my community.”

“Hi I’m Charita! Being part of the Girls Inc. Girls Leading Change Summit at WashU has been one of the most inspiring experiences in which I have been able to learn what being strong, smart, and bold really means. My favorite part of this experience at WashU is meeting other girls from all over the Girls Inc. network who have a passion for bringing change in their communities through their advocacy projects. Overall, this experience was especially memorable because it reminded me that leadership is about empowering others and having the confidence to make a difference!!”
