The Girls’ Bill of Rights serves as the foundation for our work:
Girls have the right to be themselves and to resist gender stereotypes.
Girls have the right to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm.
Girls have the right to take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success.
Girls have the right to accept and appreciate their bodies.
Girls have the right to have confidence in themselves and to be safe in the world.
Girls have the right to prepare for interesting work and economic independence
As part of a national organization, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region is part of a leading advocacy organization that informs the community and policy makers about the unique issues facing girls today.
Girls Inc. has also adopted certain advocacy statements in support of the Girls’ Bill of Rights. These advocacy statements establish the framework for putting our mission, to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and boldSM, into practice.

Finally, Girls Inc. also encourages girls to advocate for themselves and invites women and men to speak out on their behalf as well.
