The Role
The Council of Women for Girls is composed of career women who are inspired by celebrating women’s successes and accomplishments, while actively inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Members are committed to sharing personal and professional experiences through storytelling, mentoring, and collaborative volunteer activities.
The Commitment
● Members are asked to make a 9-month commitment of (at least) approximately 20 hours total (est. 2 hours/month) with their group of mentees.
● Attendance at the kick-off celebration in September 2022 and the culminating event in May 2023 is expected.
● Members are asked to make a gift in the amount of their choosing; there are several meaningful ways to support Girls Inc. programming.
The Benefits
● Becoming part of a lifetime council of diverse, yet like-minded women who share the ideals of giving back to the community and empowering girls to become empowered women.
● The opportunity to have a positive influence on the lives of girls in our local community.
● Complementary pair of tickets to our Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region Celebration Luncheon (September) and Strong, Smart & Bold Awards Dinner (May).
The Impact
● Mentor girls in grades 8-12 by participating in a Eureka! speaker series and monthly mentoring “meetings” with your group of mentees!
● Share your career expertise to help girls build skills and capabilities for a responsible, confident, and self-sufficient adulthood.
● Have a lasting impact on Girls Inc. girls for years to come!
