Fuel Her Fire 2018 Announcements

The 4th Annual Fuel Her Fire Awards Celebration is just around the corner! Mark September 26 on your calendar and join us to celebrate and recognize local women who exemplify the life-altering mission of Girls Inc.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome Sandra Fox, President of Sensory Six, as our 2018 Honorary Chair. Together, we’re presenting the 2018 Fuel Her Fire Award to Angela Beddoe, President & CEO of Beddoe Publishing and Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Herlife Magazine New York. We’re presenting the 2018 Emerging Leader Award to Valerie Rapson, PhD, Outreach Astronomer for the Dudley Observatory at miSci.

2018 Schenectady Summer Fun Sessions

Who: Girls entering Kindergarten through 8th grades
What: A spectacular 6 week Summer Fun program!
Where:
 962 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY
When: June 25th – August 3rd   9:00am – 5:00pm
Cost: $115 per week or $210 for 2 weeks if paid in advance.  Scholarships available on a limited basis and the discount does NOT apply.

Session 1 (June 25 – June 39): “Baking with Chemistry” – Girls will investigate the basics of Chemistry as they bake delicious goods.

Session 2 (July 2-3 & July 5-6):  “Girls encourage”- Based on one of National’s curriculums, girls will be introduced to nontraditional activities and adventures. Activities promote fitness training, team building, and athletic participation.

Session 3 (July 9 – July 13): Headed for Greatness” – Have you ever wanted to be a firefighter, an EMT, a law enforcement office, a scientist, something in media production? Girls will explore many different career possibilities.

Session 4 (July 16 – July 20): Space and Beyond” – What is StarX and Falcon Heavy? Explore the universe, galaxies, stars, solar system, and beyond.

Session 5 (July 23- July 27): Construct It” – This week, girls will be doing multiple hands– on activities that demonstrate different types of construction work including architecture and engineering

Session 6 (July 30- August 4): Around the World in 5 Days” – Each day a different country is explored. The girls will lean about language, fashion, customs, and food of the world.
