FREE After-school Programs

Albany Girls Inc. offers a variety of new programs, Monday-Friday, the center is open from 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. and is wheelchair accessible. Girls must register for the programs they wish to participate in. Programs are generally divided into age groups.

Grades K-2
Grades 3-6
Grades 6 & Up

Registration starts on Wednesday,  January 10th from 12-7pm, at our Albany Center located at 301 Washington Ave, 2nd Floor, Albany. Registration continues Thursday, September 14th, 2pm-5pm.

The Spring 2018 FREE After-school Program  session begins Tuesday, January 16, 2018

New members must complete a registration packet and return it in person

All members (old & new) must register your child in person.
Examples of our programs include:

Homework Help:
Girls are assisted with homework.

Operation SMART:
Builds skills and interest in science, math and technology through hands on fun activities!

Economic Literacy/She’s on the Money:
Learn the importance of money management and investment through fun play! This program fosters the development of skills needed to be financially self-sufficient.

Computer Literacy:
Learn various programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Publisher and more!

Learn the basics of photography and understand the importance of activisim.  Girls will exhibit their photos at the end of the program.

Conflict Resolution:
Learn how to problem solve positively.

Healthy Snacking:
Learn how to make and eat healthy snacks.

Stepping Stones:
Learn the basics-the rules of play, kicking, running, jumping and having fun.

Prepare for leadership and community service.

Media Literacy:
Examine and discuss the thoughts and images in all types of media


Working with area partners, Girls Inc. is able to enhance the the experience we provide girls. Girls Inc. is privileged to have a multi-year partnership with Albany Medical Center. The partnership focuses on providing after-school and summer health-related programs to stimulate girls’ interest in healthcare and science, as well as the many career opportunities at Albany Med.
