FREE After-school Programs

Schenectady Girls Inc. offers a variety of new programs, Monday-Friday, the center is open from 2:30 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. and is wheelchair accessible. Girls must register for the programs they wish to participate in. Programs are divided into age groups.

Grades K-2 are enrolled in Kids Corner. Kids Corner girls will receive homework help, have free activity time and will learn the 6 pillars of the Girls Inc. core values.
Grades 3-6 are enrolled in Creation Station. Creation Station girls choose classes based upon the 6 pillars of Girls Inc. core values, receive homework help, and have free activity time.
Grades 6-12 are enrolled in Creation Station and have the opportunity to attend specialized Teen classes Monday-Friday, in addition to homework help and free activity time.

Registration starts on Tuesday, September 11th  from 12-7 pm at our Schenectady Center, located at 962 Albany St, Schenectady. Registration continues Wednesday, September 12th from 9am-5pm.

The Fall 2018 FREE After-School Program session begins Monday, September 17, 2018.

New members must complete the registration packet and return it in person.
All members (old & new) must register your child in person.

Examples of our programs include:

Homework Help:
Girls are assisted with homework.

Operation SMART:
Builds skills and interest in science, math and technology through hands on fun activities!

Economic Literacy/She’s on the Money:
Learn the importance of money management and investment through fun play! This program fosters the development of skills needed to be financially self-sufficient.

Computer Literacy:
Learn various programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Publisher and more!

Conflict Resolution:
Learn how to problem solve positively.

Healthy Snacking:
Learn how to make and eat healthy snacks.

Stepping Stones:
Learn the basics-the rules of play, kicking, running, jumping and having fun.

Discovery:
Prepare for leadership and community service.

Media Literacy:
Examine and discuss the thoughts and images in all types of media.
