District Facing a Sobering Rate

Faced with tenaciously high rates of teen pregnancy, school leaders are pursuing new ways to teach sexual responsibility and help students achieve long-term goals.

In a marked shift, Schenectady school officials have brought sex education programs from Planned Parenthood and Girls Inc. into the high school, and are adopting creative methods to urge more students to consider college.

76th Annual Girls Night Out!

At this year’s 76th Annual Girls Night Out, Girls Incorporated of the Greater Capital Region Awarded over $10,000 in local and national scholarships, along with Strong, Smart, and Bold Awards, Program Director Awards, Most Improved Awards, Teen Leader Awards, Margaret Noble Awards, Sybil Hoyle Awards, and the Winifred Downey Girl of the Year Awards.
