Recruiting for Eureka! in full swing!

1st Cohort of Eureka! girls

Girls Incorporated and the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering (CNSE) are entering the second year of the Nanotechnology based Girls Inc. Eureka!® program and are seeking applicants for the class of 2018. This unique initiative seeks to recruit a cohort of 30 girls, all of whom will be entering 8th grade this fall.

Girls Inc. Eureka! is a FREE five-year program.  The first two years of the program, girls commit to attending a four-week summer camp at the UAlbany NanoCollege. The summer program will feature hands-on nanoscale education, personal development and sports & adventure programs. It will also include weekly field trips focused on the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

In years three through five, girls will participate in four-week long paid internships with local STEM businesses and organizations. Additional support is provided through continued programming during each school year and ongoing assessment throughout the program.

The application deadline is Friday, June 14, 2013. Please do not hesitate to call 374-9800 ext. 221 or email [email protected] with questions or to request an extension. View Eureka!’s recent press release from the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.Eureka 1st cohort summer
